This beginner Hockey program gives children ages 4-14 years the opportunity to learn the basics of skating and hockey from USA
Hockey trained instructors in a fun, relaxed and organized environment. 4 sessions (starting 10/1/2018 through 6/1/2019.)

STEM Center: SUMO bot

It's that time of year again where our 3rd through 8th graders will put together a EV-3 Mindstorm robot to compete in a head to head battle against their opponent. They will get to choose their sensors and design their bot however they choose.  Programming is very simple and utilizes the sensors you've chosen for your team's robot. Teams will compete at Northview in April.

FIRST LEGO League Jr Session 2

It's Mission Moon time!  Grades 1-3 teams are forming now for our 2nd session of FIRST LEGO League Jr. These mini-engineers will have to opportunity to design a moon base with their team and program their We-Do creation on the moon base.  Teams will present their team's work in a showcase expo in April at Northview High School.

Woodrow Preschool Open House - March 3

Attention Sylvania Families! Woodrow Preschool in Sylvania will be holding an Open House for families looking for care for their 3-5 year old child for the summer/fall of 2019 on Sunday 3/3/19 from 10am-12noon.  Open House attendees will receive one free week of pre-school on a 2019 registration. It is located at 5900 Woodrow, off Erie St. near downtown Sylvania. 419-885-2451.

Free Tennis Play day

The Northview Tennis Team will teach kids how to play tennis at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club on March 3rd at 5 pm.

Try Hockey for Free

On Saturday, February 23, 2019… Sylvania Youth Hockey and Tam-O-Shanter Ice Arena will encourage kids, ages 4 to 14, to come to Tam-O and try youth hockey for free. The event will be held at Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter Ice Arena located at 7060 Sylvania Avenue (next door to Olander Park). Our morning will look something like this… 10:15 am – Check-in (main hallway across from Vito’s Restaurant) 10:30 am – Classroom presentation 10:45 am – Get Dressed 11:00 am – On-ice 11:45 am – Q&A 12:00 pm – Conclusion Skate rental is available at no charge! We will have instructors here to help tie skates and be on the ice with the kids.

Day Camp at Camp Miakonda

Camp Miakonda hosts an amazing day camp for all youth ages 6-10 (not just scouts) with activities like archery, swimming, STEM, games and more!

Girl Power! Calling all girls in grades 3-8!

Join us all day to explore STEM fields! Get hands-on with exciting activities, ask challenging questions from inspirational STEM professionals, and have interesting discussions in workshops that will get girls thinking about all the awesome things to do when they grow up! 

STEM Your Knowledge at UT

The purpose of this event is to get local elementary students ages 6-12 exposure to STEM fields and the interesting things that can be accomplished through these fields. STEM organizations will have booths set up to show demonstrations to students and interactive events will also be set up to help students get excited about as well as learn more about STEM fields.

UT Summer Soccer Camp

The Rocket Soccer Summer Camp provides youth soccer players the opportunity to learn from and interact with our great camp staff, all in a collective effort to develop their soccer skills while having fun! Each camper will receive a Toledo Rocket t-shirt and soccer ball!
