Purple Star Schools
Sylvania Schools is proud to announce that every building in our district has been selected as a Purple Star School. This prestigious designation highlights the District's focus on providing support and resources to military-connected students. Bob Verhelst, Director of Student Services, is the liaison for military students and their families. Mr. Verhelst ensures that military families feel supported and students know that staff will be aware of possible needs in the future. As the liaison, Mr. Verhelst knows and understands the special considerations afforded to military students and families under federal law.
Sylvania Schools partners with Little Blessings Outreach Program. Little Blessings helps Veterans and their families transition successfully to civilian life utilizing the healing power of equine-assisted services, wellness programs, and community integration.
