Note that the data reported on this dashboard reflects the isolations and quarantine absences for a specific date. The state report likely reflects a lag in reporting due to the timing that reporting takes place.



Sylvania Schools cannot disclose specific case information due to FERPA and privacy laws. These numbers reflect official isolation and quarantine cases as determined by the Department of Health through positive cases or official contact tracing.

Definitions 

Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick.

Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. 

Reasons for quarantine could include:  travel, close contact with a positive case (as determined by contact tracing), or waiting on COVID-19 test results. Quarantine does not include positive case isolations which is reflected in the number of confirmed, first-hand positive cases of COVID-19.
