The Teaching and Learning Department oversees all aspects of the K-12 curriculum, course offerings, professional development, career and technical education services, gifted education, alternate learning opportunities and assists with intervention planning in all 12 schools. Our goal is to work collaboratively with teacher-based leadership teams at all levels to facilitate the development of curriculum aligned with Ohio’s New Learning Standards for all academic areas.
These learning standards include the full implementation of the new English Language Arts and mathematics Common Core standards. Through teacher-led professional development planning, our department is leading the way for positive change and development of best practices and systems to support teachers, parents, and students to be successful.
High School (9-12)
Our two high schools offer 24 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, 22 College Credit Plus (CCP) courses, and Honors courses along with
Career Tech programs in14 pathways.
Junior High (6-8)
Along with core subject classes, our three junior high schools offer Honors classes, introduction to world languages, STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math), music, and art.
