Bus routes will be emailed to parents and will be available on the Stopfinder app, ‘District Maps & Bus Routes’ page (link), and available at Elementary Open houses.
Our goal is to safely and efficiently transport all students living in Sylvania to approximately 30 area schools in the Sylvania and Greater Toledo area. All school buses are inspected every day by the bus driver and vigorously inspected twice a year by a state inspector. All bus drivers are CDL certified and undergo additional training on a yearly basis.
It is important that students know and follow bus rules at all times while on the bus to and from school, sporting events and extracurricular activities. Bus drivers are required to fill out a misconduct form (student referral) on any student(s) not following the bus rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Transportation Department at 419-824-8686.
Message for students:
- Be ready for your bus 5 minutes early. Be at your bus stop prior to the bus arriving.
- Never cross close to the front of the bus – make sure the driver can see you.
- Never pick up anything you drop close to or under the bus – ask the driver what to do.
- Never run after a bus or bang on the side.
- If you must cross the street in front of the bus, follow the driver’s directions, and stop and look before you cross.
- Never run across a street, it’s better to miss the bus than rush and risk being hit by a car.
- Stay away from the rear and sides of the bus – always be in a safe place where the driver can see you.
Stopfinder Parent app:
- A link to the Stopfinder parent app will be sent to all parents listed as the primary contact for the students.
- The primary contact will be able to share the app to any caregiver.
- The app will show the student's schedule and will alert you when the bus is within a specified area. Please make the area as big as possible and be ready for the bus.
